BRISTOL, Conn. – January 12, 2016 – The Arthur G. Russell Company, Inc. (AGR), a leading provider of automatic assembly solutions, is again sponsoring Team 3461, Operation P.E.A.C.C.E. Robotics. AGR is providing funds, materials and mentors who will help design and build a robot for the 2016 FIRST® Robotics Competition – FIRST StrongholdSM.
Operation P.E.A.C.C.E. Robotics includes high school students from Bristol and the surrounding communities. The team received a kit comprised of various automation components along with limited instructions. Working with AGR mentors, students have six weeks to design, build, program and test their robot to meet this year’s engineering challenge.
FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a not-for-profit organization, founded by inventor Dean Kamen in 1989. FIRST® strives to capture the enthusiasm of students with the excitement of a sports competition, and applies them to science and technology. The program emphasizes teamwork, self-confidence, professionalism and leadership.
