High Speed Systems For Assembly, Filling, Labeling And Inspection
Vibratory And Rotary Feed Systems And Storage Bins
A
MV system has two primary elements:
1) A computer that serves as the machine-vision engine and
connects to a camera.
2) Software that processes and analyzes images for defects,
measurements and locations.
A
MV system achieves 100 percent inspection automatically and
provides feedback to support continuous quality improvement
for parts produced at rates of hundreds of thousands of parts
an hour. MV is important for applications in which human vision
is inadequate due to fatigue or visual acuity, where speed
is required or where substantial cost reduction is obtained
through the reduction of direct labor and/or improved product
quality.
The Arthur G. Russell Co. teams with AVTEX,
a vision specialist who has successfully integrated 100’s
of precision camera systems since 1995 and offers design,
implementation, support and training services. Many AGR and AVTEX turn-key
solutions utilize In-Sight and Checkpoint
II systems from Cognex, a leading
MV technology provider.

Application Success Story… ensures quality at manufacturer for blood collection needles
To satisfy stringent requirements in the medical industry,
a needle manufacturer needed 100 percent inspection of critical
areas in the needle manufacturing process. To ensure the
final product is within tolerances, the manufacturer needed
a high-speed vision system. AGR and AVTEX designed
and implemented multi-camera Cognex Checkpoint system to
examine and validate the entire process. Several of these
highly successful systems are in use today, capable of producing
millions of needles per day, with a bad part rejection rate
of less than 1 percent.
AGR and AVTEX have consistently developed high-speed solutions for manufacturing
applications exceeding burst speeds of 6,000 parts per minute.
